Laura Wooten Laura graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1988 with a B.S. in business and economic studies. This is also where she started her fitness career teaching aerobics. In 1996, she attained her MPH or Masters of Public Health from the University of South Carolina, focusing on nutrition and exercise science. In 1997, Laura  became a wife to Chris and is now a mother of three (ages 1,6 and 9), and author of 3 cookbooks. As a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Laura strives to improve the nutritional habits of all the clients at Bodyshop Athletics.  Her services consist of one on one consultations, Corporate wellness, Small groups seminars as well as  online nutritional guidance and accountability. "The most awesome women in the world!" per Chris Wooten

 

Mary Thompson is a native to Lexington, South Carolina. She started training with Chris Wooten in 2000, first as a client. Then by May of 2006 she began her career working at The Body Shop. She played varsity soccer at Lexington High School for four years and then went on to play at Anderson University as a four year starter. She served as a captain her senior year. Mary graduated Anderson with a Christian Ministry degree and is a certified personal trainer through A.F.P.A.

 

 

Jay Hendricks is a graduate from Anderson University. He has been involved in sports and weight lifting for the past 10 years. He enjoys hiking, rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, football and is amazing at 4 square. He takes pride in helping others develop their athletic skills and helping people reach their goals in fitness. Jay graduated Anderson University with a Christian Ministry degree and is a certified personal trainer through A.F.P.A.

 

 

 

Sam Brown has been with The Body Shop since Feb 2005. He is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Entertainment. He also studied at United States Sports Academy with dual masters degrees in Fitness Administration and Sport Coaching. While at USC, Sam was a student assistant for the men’s basketball team under Coach Odom. He has recently started training for triathlons. When asked what animal he would want to be and why Sam said he would like to be a fish because he needs to learn to swim better.

 

 

Jason Windley After graduating from Southside High School in Greenville, Jason attended Erskine College where he was captain of the soccer team and a member of the cross country team. Jason started training with The Body Shop in January 2006 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. In 2007, he played in the Premier Arena Soccer League for Greenville’s Performance FC Phoenix. Now he coaches at Lexington United Soccer Club. Jason has a strong interest in music and dance and hopes to soon begin teaching hip-hop classes.  If Jason could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world he would love to dine with Bill Cosby.

 

 Julia Early has been with Bodyshop Athletics since May 2008.    A health and fitness enthusiast herself, she decided to trade in her business suit to share her passion to live a lifestyle that reflects that enthusiasm.   She started first as a group fitness instructor, with specified certifications for: Reebok Step, Yogafit, Rep Reebok, and Cycle Reebok.  She later went on to receive her Personal Trainer certification through the American Council on Exercise.  She is married with two daughters.  She loves to spend her free time outdoors and enjoys such hobbies as: running, biking, hiking, camping, tennis and bowling. 

 

 

Virginia Geddings While personal training over the last few years, Virginia has made her passion become her life.  She and her husband Kevin have two beautiful children, Olivia age 4 and Sauyer age 2, 2 dogs and a cat. Her love for fitness and exercise began over 17 years ago while growing up in Chapin, SC.  fter attending the University of South Carolina, Virginia made Columbia her home, and has been here for 12 years. As a Certified Personal Trainer through AFAA, Virginia says "I feel the ultimate goal as a trainer is help individuals become healthy so that they can live their lives to the fullest".

 

 Morgan Hale Morgan grew up in Lexington, SC where she played tennis and ran track for Lexington High School.  She is currently a senior at the University of South Carolina and will graduate in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.  She finds joy in helping others reach their physical fitness goals and personal goals.  Morgan enjoys traveling, spending her time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family.  Running, hiking, kayaking, and sailing are a few of her favorite activities.  In the future, Morgan says she hopes to have a career devoted to serving others with the gifts she has been graciously given.

 

Bridgette Grice Bridgette began working with the BodyShop Family as a Sophomore in highschool while training with her volleyball team...and she hasn't left since!  She is originally from Lexington and played both volleyball and ran track at LHS.  Bridgette attended Coastal Carolina University where she studied Health Promotion.     "I feel privaleged to work in such an inspiring, uplifting, and high spirited environment".  Bridgette is a true advocate of having an all around healthy mind, body, and soul.  Working at Bodyshop Athletics allows her to not only help others achieve there fitness goals, but also share the gospel through her own actions! 

 

Curtis Murphy 

Curtis graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 2006.  Curtis attended Spartanburg Methodist College where he played baseball for two years and got his associates degree.  At SMC he earned the most outstanding male athlete award.  Afterward he attended USC to play baseball in 2008 and 2009.  Curtis is currently a senior and will graduate in December 2010 with a BS in exercise science. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and working out.  His future plans are to serve others in whatever mission field God has planned for him.
